Final project: Water problems(sudan)

Sudan water problems

Water is the source of life, it is very important to human, plants and animals to survive. A lot of countries have water problems, that’s because they are a poor countries and they have weak economy. Some of those countries don’t have sanitation and they dispose sewage water in sea. Other countries have drought and floods; this makes a big deal in the water shortage. The increase in population number and the rising incomes over the time are other reason for water shortage. Some countries have a very hot weather in summer witch will cause the lands to be dry. A lot of countries have large industries and so many farms; they both consume large quantities of water daily. The shortage of water in those countries will cause a lot of problems that lead to death of living organisms. Many industries rely on water in their industrial process, water shortages lead to stop the industries process. Farmers are depending on clean water in plant, and the water shortage cause plant to wither. If they didn’t find a solution a civil war may happen between the powerful and poor citizen.

Sudan has water problems, this problem is partially blamed on the land since it has very low rain and it’s located in very hot and dry place. The Nile River is the main source of water for Sudan and not a lot of people have access to it due to the structure of the land, even if the people have access to it, the Nile itself have shortage. In hot season water may evaporate limiting the capacity to supply water to the people; rainfall in Sudan is random and happens in short season of the year which is a big part why Sudan has water problems. On the other hand there is the current violence taking place in the region which is limiting the water for Sudan’s people. There is competition between Arab and non-Arab farmers they are fighting about who should use the land (LoveToKnow, 1996-2012). About 80% of the people work in agriculture and agriculture is about 40% of the market and accounts for 97% of the water in use. Water is not just income and a job it’s life itself (Dr. Paul J, 2010), these days this situations grows more violent people have been forced to leave their homes to live in refugee camps or other countries, some of them had to give up their land so they can move away from this conflict (LoveToKnow, 1996-2012).
Shortage of water and Unclean water spreads diseases such as cholera and infant diarrhea but if water is managed carefully there will be enough water and clean water in Sudan. There are solutions to the shortage of water in Sudan like repairing old water systems, controlling water utilities using less water for the agriculture by using drip irrigation and focusing more on watershed management. they can increase the price of water to the rich people and maintain the price to the poor people to gain more money to build desalination plants and to be operated with a global team and trained local operators The General solution can be by the main source which is the Nile river if they have more access to the water they will not have shortage of water due to the hot weather which will evaporate the water or because of less of rainfall. There are other solutions for the country itself is to stop the civil war between them because the war makes some places have water and some other cannot access it and sometimes it can cause pollution to water which will cause some diseases or death to the people drinking it and to start to educate the people and teach them not to drink the unclean water because a lot of children they are dead from shortage or unclean water before they reach 5 years

Present day developments of telephone

Nowadays the telephone has been developed more and more to be used as same as the computer. It can do many activities to help many peoples to do their work faster. With the development of techniques and methods of use of the phone it has become much easier and useful to use. The mobile phone has been change from normal mobile phone to a smart phone; it can do many things such as monitor the stock market to help businessmen to do their jobs. Some smart phones now are used only for communication by sound and written massages. All peoples can use it to message their friends via Facebook, MSN, yahoo messenger and a lot of chatting programs.  Other phones are used to do so many things such as taking photos and editing it, checking their mails, downloading videos and so many things. The Children can use these smart phones also because it contains games and entertainment.

These smart phones such as BlackBerry, Ipone and Samsung galaxy tab, are designed so to be Lightweight, easy to use and hold, it is connected through network all the time using 3G network to make it faster to log in to the sites. Nowadays it can be used in all facilities such as schools, companies, universities and others, because it helps them to do their work instead of using the computers.

Individual Assignment: section 2

How the telephone developed.

Over time the telephone started to be developed more effectively to make it easier to use. Watson, Alexander Graham Bell’s assistant, discovered a way to alert the person receiving the call by fixing a bell onto the telephone (MOAH, 1996). Then the telephone started to have numbers buttons from 0 to 9 and each telephone got a personal number to make it easier to call a specific person, just by dialing his direct number.

The telephone started to spread all over the world, and that has helped to make the world smaller, because you can contact any person anywhere in the world. It was used in industry and Business to help communicate widely with others persons in other countries and make global trade more effective. It helps human contact with each other all the time.

The telephone had been changed from using a big wire telephones attached to the wall to a small wireless phones and mobile phones that have a chip in it to connect the phone to a Communication satellite network. In the past the telephone sent only human sound through calls. However, through time, it started to be easier and useful to use. In addition to sound, it can send text messages and images to any other phone using the network connection.

History of telephone

The early history.

Alexander Graham Bell is considered the inventor of the telephone. He was trying to improve the telegraph which was used to send and receive massages using an electrical system At the time, they were not able to send and receive more than one message at the same time. With the help of Bell’s knowledge of music he found a way to make the telegraph send and receive more than one message at the same time.

On March 10th 1876 the telephone was discovered and this marked the end of telegraph use (Mary Bellis. 2012). The first sound was transferred by Alexander to his assistant Tomas A Watson, while they were working on the experiment.

In 1831 Michael Faraday discovered that vibrations of metals can be converted in to electrical waves (N.P.2006). The telephone converts the human voice to electrical waves that are transfered through a wire and then back to human voice again. This was the basic principle of the telephone.

The telephone began to spread and was used by human in 1877 (Mary Bells. 2012). The switch board of the telephone was invented by Leroy Firman and he got his first patent of it in this year also.  This was the beginning of modern telephonic development.

Carbon emissions.

Carbon production has been increasing in the last generation in the Middle East. It considers being 10 times the world average. There are different percentages of carbon emissions in countries, depending on human energy use. Countries which use oil and gas in their industries will produce more carbon. Gulf countries have the biggest percentage of carbon release in the world and second in North Africa. The over use of oil and gas will put the environment in danger. Some countries are still not estimating how dangerous carbon emissions are because of their lack of efficiency. In the UAE they have started to solve this problem, they are trying to find a way to reduce carbon emissions with the help of different organizational contacts by estimate the emissions in UAE and building areas that absorbs these harm gasses. This will improve energy efficiency standards.

Produce electricity using solar energy

Genasolar is a revolutionary solar inspired plant funded by Abu Dhabi’s green Masdar initiative and Spain’s Sener engineering.  The company is trying to increase the output of sustainable power for thousands of homes. It produces electricity by using mirrors that use the heat energy from the sun to heat a new salt compound that is in turn transformed into liquid and is able to store the energy all day long. The salt can then power a steam turbine to produce electricity. The plant consists of a number of heliostats formed from large mirrors controlled from a plant to follow the sun’s journey across the sky and keep as much of the thermal energy. However, cables are needed to keep the tower stable in wind. This is a very recent technology.
